Startup appeals FCC auction rules
In its petition, Frontline asked the FCC to deny spectrum to winning bidders if it would "result in excessive concentration in spectrum holdings." It also wants the agency to lower the minimum bid for the public safety portion of the spectrum, plus another large block to be auctioned.
Earlier this month, Verizon Wireless filed suit in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to set aside a portion of the rules.
Verizon has opposed the FCC's decision to force the winning bidder for about a third of the auctioned spectrum to allow any devices and software applications to be used on the network.
